Justin Whalen
Project Description
Justin is a landscape architect with experience working in a wide range of projects from streetscape, community, trail and cemetery master plans to wayfinding, parks and recreation, and ski resort planning. As a senior project manager, Justin often leads projects from conceptual design to construction, participating in all stages, from site inventory and analysis, to refining detail designs and developing working drawing sets, as well as directing contract administration.
Justin understands the positive impacts landscape architecture can have on communities, both large and small. He has a strong interest in the design of trails and public spaces, with the intent of creating meaningful spaces to connect people to the places where they live, work and play.
Justin holds a professional degree in landscape architecture from the University of Guelph. He sits on the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects (OALA) Council, serving both existing and new members, and he serves as the Chair of the OALA Social Committee. In addition, he won the OALA David Erb Memorial Award for Volunteerism in 2021.
