The Township of Centre Wellington needed a plan for Belsyde Cemetery to meet the growing demand for a variety of interment options. The Township retained Hilton Landmarks to find opportunities for expansion in the 150-year-old existing portion of the cemetery, and required a plan for development in the cemetery’s new section for the next 25 years.

Steep slopes in the cemetery’s newest sections demanded design solutions using creative grading and retaining walls to maintain accessibility and control erosion issues. Redesigned cremation gardens provide multiple options for interment that were not available in the existing sections.

The first phase of the cemetery master plan was completed 2017 with the new Eden Cremation Garden.
