Amanda has over five years of unique land use planning experience in both the private and public sectors. Through her interior design education working on large-scale design projects, Amanda gained an interest in urban planning and later obtained her Master of Planning from the University of Waterloo. She started her career in the private sector working for a home builder within the Region of Waterloo and later worked as a private land-use consultant with a focus on infill and greenfield residential development and retirement / long-term care buildings within various municipalities of Ontario.
In addition, Amanda previously worked for the County of Oxford processing land-use and development applications, as well as preparing and presenting planning opinions to Council and liaising with the public. She actively volunteers with several industry committees related to urban planning. Amanda is currently the Chair of the Waterloo Park Advisory Committee and is an active member of the southwestern district Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) committee.
