GSP Group with WalterFedy prepared streetscape design concepts for the reconstruction of Davenport Road. The City of Waterloo recognized that the two-kilometre portion of Davenport Road between Lexington Road and Northfield Drive required a redesign and reconstruction for increased vehicular safety and pedestrian usability, and downsized it from four to two travel lanes to achieve this goal.
With the project engineers and the City of Waterloo, concepts were created through consultation with the public and stakeholders which addressed the safety concerns while providing for fluent vehicular movement lanes, bicycle lanes, transit pads, sidewalk reconstruction and landscape plantings in both the median and boulevards.
