Maple Leaf Foods announced on November 26, 2018 that it is building a new state-of-the-art fresh poultry facility in southeast London, ON. The plant is about 50,000 square metres and will be a $660-million investment. The plant will replace several aging poultry processing plants in Ontario and employ about 1,450 people at the outset with further expansion in time.
GSP Group led the Site Plan Approval process for the project and provided landscape architectural services on this 75-acre site. As Project Manager, GSP Group coordinated all detailed design drawings and reports and liaison with the City of London and the coordination of Upper Thames River Conservation Authority approvals.
GSP Group also provided site landscaping with our Landscape Architecture team providing designs for street edges, parking lots, walkways, staff outdoor areas, stormwater management ponds and ecological buffer restoration.
We are pleased to be working with Maple Leaf and the project team which includes Hixson Architects and Engineers (Cincinnati), and WalterFedy Architects and Engineers (Kitchener).
