Past Leadership
Bill Green is retired from full-time consulting after 37 years as a professional planner. A founding Principal of GSP Group, Bill’s experience covered municipal and land development planning projects across Southwestern Ontario. These include comprehensive Official Plans and Zoning By-laws, Parks and Recreation Master Plans, and a full spectrum of land development projects, such as community plans and development applications for large projects. Bill provided project management for multidisciplinary teams, working with colleagues in engineering, environmental, survey, and legal services to provide the highest quality of service to our clients.
In addition to being an Adjunct Professor and Planner-in-Residence at the University of Waterloo School of Planning, Bill has been very involved in the community, including Kitchener Panthers Baseball and the Waterloo Hospice.
Brian Roth, founder of Roth Associates Landscape Architecture in Waterloo, joined GSP Group in October 2017 and led the firm’s Landscape Architecture practice until his retirement. With a well-crafted design sense through all aspects of his practice, Brian’s vast portfolio of projects includes urban parks, trails, passive and active open spaces, sustainable design for LEED and green roof projects, educational facilities from elementary schools to university campuses, the restoration and creation of natural areas, restorative and healing landscapes for healthcare facilities across southern Ontario, and private residential gardens across Canada.
Over his 37-year career, Brian has regularly performed public outreach activities with mentoring colleagues, as a regular speaker lecturing locally at schools, service club functions and at environmental workshops. As well, Brian was once a Sessional Lecturer at the University of Toronto’s John H. Daniels School of Architecture, Landscape and Design.
Glenn Scheels is one of the founding partners of GSP Group and has over 35 years of planning and design experience in Ontario. After a degree from Ryerson and some work experience in Toronto, he has spent most of his professional career in the Kitchener-Waterloo Region.
Glenn has undertaken a wide range of planning and urban design projects across southern Ontario for the development / building industry, governments, and non-profit organizations. His passion is for redevelopment and design-based projects, working with GSP Group designers to create great neighbourhoods, public spaces, infill development, and streetscapes. Glenn has worked with community groups and stakeholders, presented to committees and councils, and provided expert testimony to the Ontario Municipal Board.
Glenn has served on many community and professional committees. He likes to head to the west coast — Ontario's west coast, that is — to enjoy its cycling and its sunsets.
Brenda has over 38 years of land use planning experience in both the public and private sectors. She has extensive experience in urban redevelopment, secondary planning, coordinating land development projects, and securing development approvals on a wide range of projects. Brenda has a thorough understanding of provincial, regional and local policies, the importance of local markets, and the need for productive public and stakeholder involvement throughout all processes.
Brenda is actively involved in the community as a member of the Hamilton Halton Home Builders’ Association and of the Greater Hamilton Professional Planners Advisory Group. She also won the Member Service Award from the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) in 2019. Brenda holds a Bachelor of Environment Studies (Honours, Urban and Regional Planning) from the University of Waterloo.
Brenda retired in December 2024.
